Retino A 0.025% Cream 20 gm also known as retinoic acid belongs to the class of drugs known as retinoids (synthetic or man-made vitamin A). Retino A 0.025% Cream 20 gm is primarily used to treat acne (pimples), sun-damaged skin and leukaemia (blood cancer). Acne is a skin condition that is common and occurs when hair follicles are blocked with dead skin cells and oil. Leukaemia is a type of blood cancer caused due to the rise in the number of white blood cells (WBCs) in your body.
Retino A 0.025% Cream 20 gm is a form of vitamin A that loosen and unblock pores in the skin’s surface by reducing the oil secretion in the skin. This prevents the formation of pimples, whiteheads and blackheads. Retino A 0.025% Cream 20 gm also reduces the excessive production of abnormal blood cells and stimulates the growth of normal, mature cells in blood and bone marrow. The oral form of Retino A 0.025% Cream 20 gm is used in the treatment of leukaemia (a type of blood cancer).
Retino A 0.025% Cream 20 gm is available in both topical and oral dosage form. The oral form of Retino A 0.025% Cream 20 gm should be taken as prescribed by your doctor. A topical form of Retino A 0.025% Cream 20 gm can be taken on the fingertip and applied on the clean and dry affected area. Avoid contact of Retino A 0.025% Cream 20 gm with nose, mouth, eyes, ears or vagina. In case Retino A 0.025% Cream 20 gm comes in contact with these areas accidentally, rinse with water thoroughly. Some people may experience dry skin, peeling, redness, burning, itching or stinging sensation of the skin. Most of these side effects of Retino A 0.025% Cream 20 gm do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist or worsen, please consult your doctor.
If you are known to be allergic to Retino A 0.025% Cream 20 gm or any other medicines, please tell your doctor. If you are pregnant, nursing mother or planning for pregnancy, it is advised to consult a doctor before using Retino A 0.025% Cream 20 gm. Avoid sun exposure while using Retino A 0.025% Cream 20 gm as it may make the skin more sensitive to sunlight and cause sunburn. Wear protective clothing and use a sunscreen lotion (SPF) while going out to protect your skin from sunburn. Do not apply Retino A 0.025% Cream 20 gm in large amounts than prescribed as it does not give quick or better results but causes peeling, marked redness or skin discomfort. Patient with a history of depression, eczema, history of skin cancer, and fish allergies should use Retino A 0.025% Cream 20 gm with caution.

Directions for Use
Topically: Wash your hands before and after applying Retino A 0.025% Cream 20 gm. Before using it, try to clean and dry the affected skin area. Applying Retino A 0.025% Cream 20 gm to wet skin may cause skin irritation, so try not to wash the treated area. Also do not apply other skin products for at least 1 hour after applying Retino A 0.025% Cream 20 gm. Wash the face with mild soap and pat the skin dry. Take a small pearl-sized amount of Retino A 0.025% Cream 20 gm on the fingertip and apply on the clean and dry affected area once a day in the evening. Avoid contact of Retino A 0.025% Cream 20 gm with nose, mouth, eyes, ears or vagina. In case Retino A 0.025% Cream 20 gm comes in contact with these areas accidentally, rinse with water thoroughly. Orally: If you are prescribed Retino A 0.025% Cream 20 gm in oral form, swallow the whole capsule with a glass of water. Take Retino A 0.025% Cream 20 gm with food to avoid stomach upset. Do not break, crush or chew it.
